Who doesn’t remember the popular TV series “Emergency’? It was this 70’s program that inspired Scott Byous to become the dedicated and busy Fire Fighter he is today. Scott is currently serving on two Fire Departments. He is working full time for the Waterloo-Morada Fire District as a Lieutenant and he is also the Assistant Fire Chief for the Foothill Fire Protection District.Scott was born in Stockton California and attended Linden High School. He went on to his higher education at San JoaquinDeltaCollege and M.E.T.S.ParamedicSchool in Lodi. He began as a volunteer with the Waterloo-Morada Fire District in 1991 and went full time in 2001. He began his Volunteer Assistant Fire Chief position for the Foothill Fire District in May of 2007.
Besides his 75-80 hour a week commitment in the Fire Service, Scott somehow finds time to referee High School Basketball and Umpire High School Baseball. He excelled in golf in High School and now manages to play an occasional game of golf.Scott is married with three children 16, 12 and 11.
While working under the tutelage of Fire Chief Mike Siligo, he has learned a lot about the Management side of the Fire business and about being a leader, coach and a friend.
Thanks Scott for your dedication and commitment to the Fire Service and the hours you’ve spent making the Foothill Fire District a much improved Department.
